UM BMWC is the shortened acronym for University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. The center itself is home to over 300 beds and employs approximately 700 physicians. The hospital itself has been open for over 50 years, and has undergone several expansions, and received a number of service awards in its lifetime. UM BMWC offers a well-rounded range of medical services, including cardiac care, cancer care, joint replacement, spinal care, and vascular care. Also included are radiology/imaging services, neurology, rehabilitation services, along with general surgery and care expected from a hospital.

Anne Arundel Medical Center holds most of its many facilities in a main medical campus located on Medical Parkway. The campus is known for its joint replacement center, which has received national recognition. In addition, the campus supports an ER, cancer unit, mental health, substance abuse, imaging labs, and even a research institute. The facilities support a total of 415 beds for patients of both the medical center and the rehabilitation center.
